For our client we are seeking a Director of Buildings Engineering to oversee and grow a diverse team across Canada.
Role Responsibilities:
As a Director, you will lead the strategic growth of the business unit in alignment with company goals and financial objectives. Your key responsibilities include:
Implementing the Business Strategy:
- Lead the business unit, ensuring profitability, service quality, and overall performance, while executing the strategy to drive growth and service excellence.
- Manage, inspire, and develop a team of senior specialists by recruiting, setting objectives, and monitoring performance to ensure they have the skills to meet program goals.
- Develop and communicate the unit’s business plan, ensuring team alignment with a focus on quality, global delivery, and integration of key functions.
- Drive organic growth by identifying and pursuing client relationships through exceptional service delivery.
Building Strong Relationships and Teams:
- Establish long-lasting client relationships to understand their needs, ensuring satisfaction and fostering growth.
- Mentor and guide discipline and service managers to ensure project success and compliance with governance standards, ultimately improving client satisfaction.
- Identify and nurture talent within the team, focusing on both technical and business development capabilities to support career growth.
- Manage resource utilization and maintain an effective team structure to optimize service delivery.
- Oversee risk management and ensure adherence to governance processes, driving service excellence.
- Stay informed about industry trends and client needs to identify new opportunities and challenges.
- Collaborate across the organization to enhance business opportunities and cross-functional cooperation.

Qualifications & Experience:
- A licensed Professional Engineer in Canada with over 10 years of leadership experience in growing a significant business unit within a professional services environment.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to inspire teams and drive success through a shared vision.
- Excellent interpersonal skills, with a proven ability to build relationships and collaborate at all organizational levels.
- Technical knowledge to identify and manage risks associated with running a design-driven business unit.
- A solid understanding of the industry, coupled with entrepreneurial acumen and strong commercial skills.
